Bio Guard 1000 Personal Air Purifier

How does it work?
It uses an electronic plasma incineration, similar to a lightning strike, to destroy airborne contaminants that would under normal circumstances be breathed in so it’s great for asthma, hay fever and general allergy sufferers and it’s been avionics tested so you can avoid catching infections from the recirculated air in aircraft cabins.

Is it an Ioniser?
No, it uses “corona discharge” to create an ionic wind at 2ft per second into the breathing zone, a simple ioniser will not give any kind of breeze effect.

What’s Corona Discharge?
Corona discharge creates the equivalent of an electronic arc in the air making it able to destroy many more airborne contaminants than traditional ionisation. Corona Discharge has been used for many, many years by the military and industry as an efficient method of killing germs & bacteria. The only difference is that we have miniaturised it. Bio Guard 1000 only weighs in at 43 grams with the battery (1.5 oz), and is very small measuring 38 mm, x 21.5 mm which is 2.5” long by 1.5” wide. In other words it’s about 70% smaller than an iPOD.

Can I wear it under a jacket?
No, there has to be an unobstructed path between Bio Guard 1000 and the breathing zone (mouth, nose & eyes. So you can wear it around your neck on clip it to your lapel.

How long does the battery last?
50 hours under normal use. The unit uses 1 x CR123 battery. These are available from supermarkets etc. 1 battery is inluded.

What germs & bacteria is it effective against?
The short answer is any particulate that measures between 3 microns and 0.04 microns. Meaning that Bio Guard 1000 is effective against following: Coronaviruses, MRSA (airborne), Tuberculosis, SARs, Influenza A+B, Common Cold, Avian Flu (H5N1), Small Pox, Anthrax, Pollen, Smoke, Dust Mites, Odours, Mould, Perfumes.
